SARA will be moving its monthly meetings starting with the February 17, 2022 meeting.
Throughout 2021, SARA met at the Wadsworth Public Library which was one of the few venues open to a group of our size due to COVID. Unfortunately, as the WPL returns to its standard set of library programming, we’re at an impasse with meeting on our regular schedule in a room that can accommodate our membership size. WPL’s room agreement stipulates the library’s activities and events take precedence over community events for the purposes of the meeting rooms. This, of course makes sense but isn’t good for SARA. Instead of trying to find a different date and time to meet or be at the mercy of potentially having an insufficiently-sized room such that we have to turn people away at the door, the Executive Committee has secured a new meeting location.
Beginning on February 17, 2022, SARA will begin meeting at Finny’s Sports Bar & Grill in Norton. Finny’s is located a half mile south of the of Interstate 76 Exit 14 at 4050 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd. I-76 Exit 14 is one exit east of where you got off for Beef O’ Brady’s (excluding the 76/21 interchange). If you’re familiar with the area, Finny’s is adjacent to Norton Middle School (the old high school).
Finny’s has a large party room that easily seats 80 people at tables with reasonable elbow room for all. The room is directly accessed from the rear parking lot, avoiding the need to cross the entire restaurant and bar area. Those arriving for the 7pm meeting will be able to access the party room via the direct-access rear door starting at 6:45.
The move to Finny’s will also accommodate an easy dining experience for those who want to partake in the optional pre-meeting dinner. Finny’s has a kitchen that serves a full menu of “pub style” food and the food is excellent. At the outset of this arrangement, SARA will have dinner in the main dining area starting around 5:45 with service completed and checks paid by 6:50 so everyone has time to get into the room. Additionally, during the meeting, food and drinks can be obtained from the bar and brought into the room if desired. Finny’s has asked that SARA commit to an average spending of $300 per month for free use of the room which normally rents for $350.
