The September meeting of the Silvercreek Amateur Radio Association will be this Thursday, September 19th at Beef O’Brady’s in Wadsworth. Beef O’Brady’s is in the Lowes plaza just off the intersection of I-76 and OH-261. An informal dinner starts at 6pm with the business meeting followed by technical talk starting at 7pm.
Doug Hunter KE8JNH, the Wayne Co. ARES Coordinator, is hosting an informational meeting Monday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Red Cross building at 244 W. South St. in Wooster. The meeting is open to anybody who has an interest in becoming a licensed amateur radio operator and has a willingness to utilize their knowledge and equipment to help their community on many different levels.

The following was written by Dave Spondike N8SAX The original building of the Fairport Lighthouse circa 1917 My childhood summers were spent at Headlands Beach, watching the sailboats go out and in past the lighthouse. When I got older, I would walk the “breakwall” as we called it out to the lighthouse, and would dive into the harbor off of the cement base.
