The Silvercreek Amateur Radio Association operates two repeaters. Both repeaters are located in Doylestown, Ohio with antennas at 1350′ ASL. Both VHF and UHF repeaters are available for use by any licensed amateur radio operator.

W8WKY 147.390 MHz Analog

W8WKY’s 2m machine is a Kenwood NXR-710 repeater controlled by an SCom 7330 controller and cross-connected to an Allstar interface controller running on a Raspberry Pi. The repeater is connected to an amp putting 100W into the duplexer with 80W out to the antenna line.

Coverage is good for fixed base and mobile setups all over Akron, Cleveland, Canton and points east and west. Handheld/HT access outdoors within the general Medina-Summit-Wayne tri-county area. Extended coverage depending on altitude with coverage as far as Mercer Co. PA. Click on the picture of the coverage for a detailed view.

Anti-kerchunking is enabled on this repeater. In order to cause the repeater to transmit after a period of idleness, the system must detect a one second key-up before it will begin transmitting audio.

Note: For Allstar Link network connections, please do not connect directly to 43211. Please connect to the hub node 48496 which is full-time linked to SARA’s repeaters.

YSF – No DG-ID. Default linking to YSF #83603 (Megalink XLX330)

DMR – Color Code 1. Brandmeister Network. TS1 reserved exclusively for TG310961 (hotspots to connect via the DMR ID of the repeater). TS2 for all non-local dynamic links. No static talkgroups.

D-STAR – No default linking.

W8WKY’s 70cm machine is a Kenwood TKR-850 repeater with a Pi-Star controller. The repeater is connected to a Crescend C5 Model P10 amplifier putting 100W into the duplexer.

Coverage is good for fixed base and mobile setups all over the greater Akron area. Handheld/HT access outdoors within the general Medina-Summit-Wayne tri-county area. Extended coverage depending on altitude across the greater northeast Ohio area. Click on the picture of the coverage for a detailed view.

The 442.275 machine switches to Analog FM mode daily from 7:15 to 8:15pm (except Mondays @ 8:00pm) to support a local net. During this time, digial modes are disabled and the system operates as an analog repeater with PL 110.9. Analog transmissions outside of the programmed time range is ignored.
