A group of people wanted to take another stab at a Discord server for connecting amateur radio enthusiasts around Northeast Ohio. Discord is a popular platform for gamers and other tech and maker-related enthusiasts to have text chat, voice chat, share files, and even share media like what they’re listening to. While we’re calling it “Northeast Ohio Amateur Radio”, it’s definitely not limited to just hams in the area — it’s open to all.
As Wikipedia describes it: Discord is a VoIP, instant messaging and digital distribution platform. Users communicate with voice calls, video calls, text messaging, media and files in private chats or as part of communities called “servers”. Servers are a collection of persistent chat rooms and voice chat channels which can be accessed via invite links.
Discord is available as an app on all major computer operating systems, phones, and tablets. It’s also usable inside of a web browser.
