I Have My License, Now What?

SARA will be holding a clinic for new licensees titled “I Have My License, Now What?” on Saturday, May 3rd from 10 am – 12 noon. The clinic will be held at the Rittman Wayne Co. Public Library – 75 N. Main St. Rittman, Ohio. The goal of the clinic is to encourage new license holders to get on the air and stay active in amateur radio. This is not a license preparation class – this clinic will cover the practical fundamentals of getting on the air and communicating. The topics covered will be:

  • Communicating on VHF and UHF
  • Thoughts on Building Out your “Shack”
  • Choosing Antennas

Attendees are requested, but not required, to register below to get a sense of planned attendance and offer an ability to “pre ask” a question or topic to covered. This clinic is targeted new license holders of the Technician and General classes who were first licensed on or after May 1, 2024. Others are welcome to attend, but focus will be given to new hams’ questions and needs. This clinic is open to any licensed amateur, not just a member of SARA. SARA Members are encouraged to send new hams this page’s link.

Attendees are encouraged to bring notebooks/pens or laptops to take notes. The presentation material will be distributed electronically to attendees following the clinic.
