It’s time to sign up for the 2026 Fall Build Project! This fall, the build will be an end-fed half-wave antenna for 10, 15, 20, and 40 meters. The kit used will be the HFkits 250W EFHW kit sold through the ARRL and we’ll be adding the optional counterpoise wire. This is the antenna that SARA uses for its POTA activations and, recently, the Ohio QSO party operating event. It performs excellently
The build will be done at a commercial building owned by Ron Stoller KB8LNK’s father that was kindly donated to our use. The address is 531 Hostetler Rd. in Orrville. The build will begin at 9am and should take 2-3 hours.
Each participant will need the following tools:
- Drill
- Drill bits – 1/8 to ¾ in step bit, ¼ inch bit, 13/64 inch bit, 9/64 inch bit (note, there will be several shared sets of bits available if you don’t have all of these)
- Pliers
- Wire cutter
- Sharp knife
- Soldering iron and solder
- Screwdriver
- Marker
The cost of the build will be $100.
