There will be no regular SARA Tuesday Night net on Tuesday, December 24th or Tuesday, December 31st in observance of Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. If you’re free on New Years Eve and near a radio, feel free to hop on around 8pm and wish each other a prosperous new year. However there will be no formal net control or net either night.
Thanks go out to John Wagner N8CD of the Technical Committee for diagnosing the repairing the amplifier issue with the 39 machine. The amp is back to 120 watts output into the duplexer, with about 90 watts going into the feedline after duplexer loss. The driver transistor had failed in the amp, and was replaced by Henry Radio. After it was repaired, John tested the settings, made some adjustments to lower the input power, and brought the amp back into service.
SARA is now planning for our 2020 meetings and we are actively seeking speakers and topic recommendations. If you have a Ham Radio passion that you would like to share with the group or an idea for a subject that you would like more information on, please contact Gary Shorter AA8CS or Jason McCormick N8EI so we can make plans to incorporate your ideas into next year’s agenda.
Finally, if you’ve purchased one of the Anytone AT-578UV mobile DMR radios, there is now a SARA “Northeast Ohio” code plug available on the club website.
